Bergara is a town with its onw color, blue bergara. And some people believe that, the cotton of the bluejeans designed by Levi Strauss in 1873, was produced since 1846 by a local company of Bergara. In the past the town was well known because of the production of linen and cotton fabrics. But also for being the place were Elhuyar brothers isolated wolfram in 1783.
Besides this town is the best place to understand how the Enlightement changed our industry and how, as a result of this industrial development, Bergara was the scene of many bitter wars and the signature of a peace agreement, the Convetion of Bergara.
